You are invited to attend this year’s Week of the Young Child Kickoff Celebration this Saturday, April 1st, 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM at the WNCC Welcome Center (out front on the lawn & inside) • WNCC theater department will perform scenes from “Bridge to Terabithia” out on the front hill at 11:30 AM and 1:00 PM. These will last 20-30 minutes each. • WNCC music students Mariah Eichner, Marissa Wright, Nicole Bauer, Lola Sabala, Bretly Crawford, Allison Cotant, Binny Conales, and Valeria Saturno will perform songs they have been working on at 10:45 AM out front. • SPEAQ UP! NE presentation from Holly Hickson with the Buffet Early Childhood Institute will be at 1:00 PM. • Food Trucks will be available from 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM o The Snowie Bus o Rosita’s Food Truck o Panhandle Popcorn & Cotton Candy o WNCC’s Food Services will be featuring a hotdog meal for just $5 • So many fun games and activities for children and their families o Seed planting o board games o card games o Ring Toss o Photo booth o Tic Tac Toe o Giant Checkers o Sidewalk Chalk Drawing • Community resources for children and families o Riverside Discovery Center o National Park Services o Target o Gering Public Library o Scottsbluff Public Library o CASA / They Are Worthy o Rooted in Relationships o Sixpence Sprouting Success o Home Based Sixpence Scottsbluff Public School’s o Early Development Network o Buffet Early Childhood Institution / We Care for Kids o CAPstone Child Advocacy Center o Healthy Families o CAPWN WIC o The DOVES Program o Head Start / Early Head Start ESU 13 o Dalton’s Book Beginnings o Healthy Blue o And More! • Prizes for children “The Week of the Young Child is a time to recognize that children’s opportunities are our responsibilities, and to recommit ourselves to ensuring that each and every child experiences the type of early environment – at home, at child care, at school, and in the community – that will promote their early learning.” NAEYC
