Western Nebraska Business Owners Can Receive Customized Resources to Thrive in the Coming Year
January 22, 2025
Business owners, entrepreneurs, and residents preparing to start new companies can all benefit from the resources available at Twin Cities Development (TCD). The economic development organization is designed to support new and existing businesses, no matter their size. If you are trying to launch or improve your business this year, take advantage of the free resources available to you.
“We're here to help our business community at all stages, and of all sizes, be successful,” says Anthony Gurrola, Community Development Specialist at TCD. “We connect people with so many great resources and I want to bring more awareness of all the support that's available to our business community."

There are multiple ways to receive support from TCD, whether you want to learn about resources in the area or receive guidance on your pain points. Here are a few ways TCD can help your business in 2025.
Pick Up a Business Resource Folder
Several resources support businesses in Western Nebraska, and TCD can help you learn more about what they do. One concise way to discover potential opportunities is to review our business resource folders. Any business that forms in the area receives one of these folders or you can stop by the Scottsbluff office at 1620 Broadway to pick one up if you are curious about what’s inside.
“Sending out these packets is a great way to introduce TCD to new businesses,” says Gurrola. “You might not know about us, but we’re giving you a great packet of information that you can refer to for help with your business development efforts.”
Gurrola hopes that by engaging with small businesses early on in their formation, they can provide support throughout their existence. The new business will make a habit of coming to TCD for support.
Not only do the business resource folders cover local professional groups that provide services, but they also highlight valuable grants available in the area. Picking up one of these folders is the first step toward getting free money for your business.
Request a One-on-One Consultation or Attend Events
The next option to grow your business is to meet with the TCD team directly. Business owners frequently reach out to Gurrola or are referred by friends and family to get support. These personalized consultations are free and allow business owners to discuss their pain points directly.
Not only can TCD recommend resources and potential solutions, but the organization also gathers feedback to learn about the community. For example, when multiple business owners discuss hiring challenges and workforce development needs, TCD responds by investing in potential solutions that will help Western Nebraska as a whole.
“We work hard to improve the business and economic development environment,” says Gurrola. “We do a lot of collaboration and work with different resource providers to help make our communities successful.”
If you aren’t sure about signing up for a free one-on-one consultation, consider attending one of TCD's community events, like job fairs and community meet-ups. At these events, you can meet with several different resource providers at once and find a good fit to address your needs. Anyone can attend these events.

Explore Online Training Opportunities in One Place
Entrepreneurs and business leaders are busy and don’t always have time to attend in-person events. However, you can still invest in future development through online business training. TCD curates valuable events from around the United States. These webinars are put on by SBA affiliates, SCORE chapters, or by state-led organizations like Grow Nebraska.
Check out some of these online resources to see if any are relevant to your needs. The topics range widely, from using AI to create marketing materials, to developing pricing strategies.
These resources are particularly helpful for rural business owners across Western Nebraska who might not be able to travel for an event.
“Our role is to collaborate with and support businesses across Western Nebraska,” says Gurrola. “We have some really great communities and want to support them. By banding together, we can grow stronger together.”
