David and Jack(David Naughton and Griffin Dunne) are two Americans backpacking through England. They were given some simple advice - “Stay on the road. Keep clear of the moors.”
It was advice that they didn’t follow and paid the price for it. One dead and one mortally injured. Waking up in a hospital in London, David is distraught when he hears his friend is dead, but he gets more distraught when Jack shows up with worse news - David is a werewolf.
David doesn’t believe it. He falls in love with his nurse (Jenny Agutter) and stays in London. He thinks everything is going to be fine. Then the full moon comes. Before he knows it he has more ghosts haunting him - his victims from the night before. David’s life has become a nightmare. Not only for himself and the woman he loves, but for the whole of London.
Directed by John Landis and with special effects make-up by Rick Baker who won an Oscar for his werewolf transformation scene, that still holds up today.
