Drug-Free is How They Want Work to Be
Star Herald 3/28/00
Western Pathology Consultants, Inc. (WPCI) has expanded by obtaining
several high profile clients, company officials said recently.
As a comprehensive drug testing program administration firm, with
its headquarters in Scottsbluff, WPCI has slowly grown into national
prominence over the past two years, according to Bill Stopperan, president
and CEO.
The firm added 396 clients to its drug-free workplace programs in
1999.
WPCI has 24 employees in Scottsbluff and four sales people in various
places, including Kearney and Irving, Texas.
This latest round of success for WPCI has added such notable clients
as ADT Security Services, Inc.; Jockey International; Cessna Aircraft
Company; and Haverty Furniture Stores.
These clients represent approximately 20,000 employees. “It’s
a tough battle. It’s a very competitive market,” Stopperan
said.
The new clients that WPCI has added represent a broad business base,
Stopperan said.
- ADT Security Inc., is a world leader in security. Since 1874, ADT
Security Services, Inc. has been the electronic security industry
leader. ADT provides protection to homes, businesses and the government.
- Jockey International is a privately-held company with its headquarters
in Kenosha, Wisconsin. They employ over 5,000 people around the world.
Jockey, founded in 1876, as a tiny hosiery business, has expanded
through the years into one of the nation’s largest clothing
manufacturers. They currently distribute their products in 120 countries
and have over 100 outlet store locations in the United States.
- Cessna Aircraft Company is a subsidiary of Textron Corporation,
Inc., which is a $11.6 billion, global, multi-industry company with
market-leading business in aircraft. Cessna, with its headquarters
in Wichita, Kansas, had a record year in 1999, with $2.2 billion in
sales. This was the highest in the company’s 72 year history.
- Haverty Furniture Sales is a full service home furnishings retailer
with 103 showrooms in 14 southern and central states. They provide
their customers with merchandise in the middle to upper price ranges.
These new clients join WPCI’s growing list of nationally known
businesses. WPCI is optimistic for the year 2000, Stopperan said, and
has projected a 40% increase in revenue for the upcoming year.
